Thought
Thought is not meant to be an emanation, it is material. And with this material we build castles, we build padded cells, we build mazes or gardens with gargoyles... Or else dollhouses (or else dog-kennels), of intricate design.

I like this idear.
Except that you've missed out the possibility of building stuff illogical and unlabelled. :)
exactly, what about the mess. Do you never have messy thoughts, cat? or did you get rid of this element because you converted to catholicism which is admittedly, an intriguing idea :)
Messy thoughts, yes, I filter them out, because I imgine they hurt my writing... Maybe it's not healthy.
